That was and currently is Chevrolet's prestige model. Compact, sporty, muscular: Camaro fits the bill.

The hottest ticket for Camaro buyers was the SS. Available in both small and big block versions, the SS was the sportiest and hairiest version you could get.

Here we have a Camaro that wanted to be a big bad SS model when it grew up, so we helped it along. This Camaro was born a base model but it is all Super Sport now, with all the looks and style of the real deal.

This car is long, low and sleek--it has been professionally refinished in stunning Tuxedo Black paint and accented with white SS striping. The body is straight and solid, with no evidence of rust or collision damage. All of the body panels are aligned and the gaps are even. The floor pans and other body panels are original and have never been replaced.

The interior of this Camaro is terrific. The black vinyl seats are in excellent condition and sit quite comfortably. The carpet is new and all of the other interior panels are in excellent condition. The dash doesn't have any cracks in it. The headliner and visors still look spiffy new.

This Camaro is optioned with a floor shifter and console, to enhance the sporty car experience. There is a Pioneer CD player to keep you company while you drive, although you would probably rather listen to the deep tone of the dual Flowmaster exhaust system. The power steering allows you to easily put this Camaro through its paces, while the power brakes bring you to a smooth, quick stop.

The rubber hits the road via a new set of BF Goodrich Radial TA tires wrapped around the classic Chevrolet Corvette Rally style wheels. So, you not only have the good looks, you've got the smooth, tight ride that comes naturally with new rubber.

A terrific option on this car (much needed on a black car!) is cold air conditioning. Came from the factory with it, and it still works great!

The 350 V8 engine has been freshly overhauled and it runs like new--it's strong and smooth. The power is evident and needs little urging to show itself. The TH350 transmission is also fresh and shifts crisply and solidly. The power is transferred to the wheels through the stock GM 10-bolt rear end.

This 1968 Camaro has it all: good looks, great comfort, top-notch ride, handling and an absolute kick-butt-and-take-names driveline combination. The SS tribute badging gives the car that extra bit of authority (not that it NEEDS that...)
